ECTA s15 record verification
Check the hash, not the letterhead.
Every evidence pack, certificate and daily seal carries a SHA-256 hash. Paste it below to check
whether it resolves to a sealed artefact and whether the audit chain still verifies.
Result codes
CRYPTOGRAPHICALLY_VERIFIED The hash resolves to a sealed artefact and the ledger chain is intact.
NOT_FOUND No sealed document, ledger entry or daily root matches. A well-formed hash is not proof of anything.
INTEGRITY_FAILURE The ledger chain failed verification. Public verification is suspended pending investigation.
RATE_LIMITED Too many lookups from this address. Retry after the period in the response. What a match means
The record presented is the record that was sealed, and the chain linking it to the ledger
is intact. This supports the integrity and reliability of the electronic record under
ECTA section 15.
What it does not mean
It is not an audit opinion and not a statement that every fact in the underlying document is
true. It also does not disclose personal information; public responses are masked under
POPIA section 19.
